Local MP John Thurso has received an encouraging response from DTI Minister Brian Wilson, MP about the possibility of the Thurso UKAEA Pension Office capturing the administration of any new pension schemes which might flow from the setting up of the Liabilities Management Authority.
John Thurso said:
"Very careful scrutiny was made of the UKAEA Pensions Office during the course of the recent Quinquennial Review and the conclusion was that it was delivering a first rate service - effective, efficient and representing very good value for money. The Government is in no doubt about the excellence of the Thurso Pension Office and it is reassuring to have confirmation that every consideration is to be given to its taking on a broader role as work on the setting up of the LMA gets under way."
