Strategy Group Announces Start of Consultation

Today some 13,000 copies of the executive summary of the draft strategy for Caithness have been sent to households throughout the Far North.
Commenting, Strategy Group Chairman John Thurso said:
"This draft strategy represents the best efforts of our group whose membership was drawn from a wide cross section of stakeholders in the community and the Far North economy.
"From our first meeting we determined that it should receive the widest possible distribution and consultation. It is vital that everyone in the North has an opportunity to input their views and I hope that as many people as possible will take that opportunity".
The full document can be downloaded at strategy@hient.co.uk and hard copies can be obtained from the CASE office in Thurso. The consultation will run until 20th August when the Group will incorporate the views expressed into the final strategy which will then be presented to the Scottish Executive, the Government and Government Agencies in Scotland.
John Thurso added:
"This is a once in a lifetime chance for our community to work together and present a united front to help deliver a secure future for the Far North".
